We’re seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to help supervise and continue the build-out the accounting operations, develop and improve monthly/quarterly reporting for senior executives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have specific experience in the financial services industry related to asset management and broker dealer operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Controller to support and lead the day-to-day functions of the accounting activities, including managing accounts receivable and payable, building out reporting for new revenue streams and preparing related accounting memorandums, and managing vendor spend.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met, and financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Help build out the internal control environment and document standard operating procedures to the standards of a public company. Assist in the budgeting process and financial planning. Provide financial analysis as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Review general ledger reports and enhance reporting capabilities out of NetSuite.
- Lead and coordinate the audit process, liaise with external auditors, and manage the preparation of all related audit schedules and footnotes.
- Oversee tax preparations and filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License is required.
- Big 4 accounting experience strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in public or private accounting focused in financial services, asset management, or broker dealer operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close processes, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to relocate to Dublin, Ohio. Remote or hybrid arrangements will not be considered for this role.
